Silver River™ Galaxy Crystal Sphere

Regular price $49.99

Throughout its enduring history, the crystal ball remains one of the most powerful and ever-present cultural images when we think of spiritual mysticism. A crystal ball is for empowerment and guidance, rather than for an all-seeing eye into the future.

In pre-industrial times crystal gazing was commonly practiced by the Pawnee, the Iroquois, the Incas, the Egyptians, the Persians, the Chinese, and the people of Yucatan. It's most likely, though, that the earliest recorded use of crystals as divination tools dates back to the Celtic Druids of Gaul, Britain, and Ireland.

"The Silver River" is the Chinese name for what is known in the West as the "Milky Way", the galaxy of our solar system. In Chinese tradition, the Silver River bathed heaven and earth in constant light and connected both realms, allowing earthly and celestial creatures to meet.

The Milky Way gets its name from a Greek myth about the goddess Hera who sprayed milk across the sky. In other parts of the world, our galaxy goes by other names. In the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa, it's called the “Backbone of Night.” In Arabic it is known as the "Haymakers' Way". Catalan’s version translates as "The Road to Santiago". The Finnish call it "Way of Birds", from a myth.
